On some new BlackBerry devices, after downloading a new version of an app, the system pops up a dialog box telling you that a restart is required for the update to complete properly. Sometimes, this dialog box is hidden behind another application or popup, and the system never gets the restart it needs. This leads to a situation where the icon for the old version of the application is gone, and the icon for the new version of the app is not yet added.
